About Me

To put it mildly, I'm a history fanatic, whether it is US history or global history because  history is all around us!   Languages,  food, music, art, architecture, literature, infrastructures and how countries interact with technology defines cultures. There are stories behind these societal elements and I would like to learn about them!

My passion for history started when I was in 5th grade and my class took a trip to the Statue of Liberty.  I reflected for quite a while on her quote, "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore."  The United States of America was created from other countries' "wretched refuse" and the cultures that they brought with them.  I wanted to learn more about the US as well as countries around the world.  Thus started my journey...

... to answer questions such as: who are my ancestors, where did they come from, how did they integrate into American society, and did they achieve the "American Dream"?
